Session: Using the Czech Republic as a case study, I will document the esoteric, quasi-religious aspect of the phenomenon of the so-called “fake-newsâ€, aptly demonstrated in the West by movements like Qanon or more recently, anti-vaxxer myths.
Bio: Zbyněk Tarant is an anthropologist, currently teaching at the University of West Bohemia in the Czech Republic. He has been monitoring contemporary antisemitism in the Czech Republic since 2006. His specialty is monitoring of cyber-hate and analysis of emerging threats.
